Class Descriptions
| Classical |
This
class teaches postures (asanas) with an emphasis on proper alignment,
breathing techniques, physical awareness,
and relaxation practices. This class is
moderately paced. Generally accessible to
students of all ages and levels of strength and flexibility.

| Gentle |
This
yoga style focuses on gentle stretching, body alignment, and learning to
breathe deeply while honoring your body’s needs in a compassionate
manner, with emphasis on meditative awareness. This
class is relatively slow paced and is excellent for students just
beginning or returning to their yoga practice. Generally accessible to
students of all ages and levels of strength and flexibility.

| Ashtanga |
Rooted
in the Primary Series of Ashtanga yoga, this class offers a challenging
sequence of yoga poses that flow into one another synchronizing each pose
with the breath.
This class is conducted in a moderately heated room and builds
strength, flexibility, and concentration.
Yoga experience helpful, but beginners welcome and encouraged
to join.

| Vinyasa
Flow |
This
class is a fusion of several yoga styles. It is an active class,
emphasizing the development of strength, flexibility, balance, and grace
through the used of postures synchronizing breath with movement. Class is
conducted in a moderately heated room. Some yoga experience is
helpful; beginners welcome.

Flow

This
class is a slower version of Vinyasa flow. The room is not heated.

Yoga |
Power
yoga is a vigorous, fitness-based approach to vinyasa flow yoga. Power
yoga tones the body promoting strength and flexibility with emphasis on
proper alignment and yogic breathing techniques. As with all yoga
practices, it can also induce calmness of mind and stress reduction.
Challenge yourself to rediscover the energy and strength within. Suitable
for all levels of yoga experience. |
Yogalates

A
moderately paced class blending core strengthening Pilates exercises and a
flowing hatha yoga series ending with guided relaxation.
Accessible to students of all ages and levels of strength and
flexibility.

Zoo
|
For
kids ages 4-11. This
class provides fun, exercise, and an unrecognized discipline for kids.
Children are able to release stress and anxiety and become more focused by
learning breath, poses, stillness and meditation. Almost all poses take
the role of an animal and the children imitate the animals. Games are
included. Classes are about 30-45 minutes.
